HER CONNECTION WITH THEATER:

(in her own words)

“I never attended a theater school although I have been entangled with theater since my childhood. When did it start? maybe when I saw the film Mary Poppins, and I was fascinated at it, but what I longed the most was to become like the two little actors playing unforgettable roles. I have been playing many years with my two sisters, with real puppets and also paper puppets cut from magazines. We also designed and coloured our own puppets. My favourite was role playing with these puppets or even simply pretending to be our favourite character. My elderly sister was very creative in making up plots and I still remember her male characters, intriguing and dramatic personages. Love and relations were the main themes, but also family and schoolstories. I remember that I was afraid of growing because I assumed that the life of adults should be very boring without role playing. Adults are not allowed to play like children. I didn’t realise at that time that theater could be a continuation and a development of that amazing exercise. Later I went to school and I played basketball and volleyball, so there was not so much time left for other activities. But my mother took us to the theater, to cult films and to any kind of exhibition, and my father was an organist and composer, so Arts and Music were part of our daily life.”
